This a beautiful little Roman fibula which is near complete except for its missing pin. It is of an unusual type described as having stout wings, a near triangular chain loop worn thin at the right hand side. Flared triangular decorative panel, decorated with moderate relief S’coil motif around which is recessed for enamelling. It dates to circa 2nd century AD.
