This is a reproduction of a silver denarius of Vespasian who was emperor from AD 69-79.

The obverse legend on this coin reads ‘IMP. CAESAR VESPASIANVS AVG’ with the head of the emperor facing right.

The reverse shows Pax seated left, holding a branch. The reverse legend reads ‘PON MAX TR P COS VI’

The coin is struck on a large flan and although a little worn shows all the detail. This coin is listed in Sear as No 780. The original was struck in AD 75.
