As in number 647, this is thicker than normal and we have no photo. Basilicus was the brother of the empress Verina. He ruled for only a short period from January 475 until August 476 AD.
This coin shows the emperor’s helmeted and cuirassed bust facing front holding a spear and shield. It has the words DN BASILICVS PP AVG.
The reverse reads VICTORIA AVGGG and shows Victory standing left holding a long cross. Some of the lettering on this coin has faded.
Note: This reproduction has a thicker flan than the original coin.
