Anthemius ruled the western empire from 467 - 472 AD. This reproduction has been manufactured from two plaster casts joined together and so is thicker than the original which is worth about £1500.
The coin shows on the obverse a helmeted and draped bust of the emperor facing front with spear and shield with the words DN ANTHEMIVS PF AVG
The Reverse reads SALVS REIPUBLICAE and shows Anthemius and Leo I standing facing side by side, holding between them a cross on a globe and each holding a spear.
Note: This reproduction has a thicker flan than the original coin.
