This is a reproduction of a penny was issued in Danish Northumbria by the Viking Kings of York in 897 AD. It was minted by Siefred in York.
The obverse of the coin reads "SIEVERTR" and the reverse "GRVNAL M CIVI" after a ficticious moneyer and place.
Made from a modern die cut by a master craftsman to represent this type and hand struck from pewter. The die maker has used the name Grunal as the moneyer on the coin.
