Full description. We are selling these clipped versions for just £2.50p each. This Venetian Solidi dates to the 14th century. Our version shows a clipped coin and the other photo shows an original full solidi.
The obverse shows the Doge kneeling before ST Mark with the legend BVENET NCTO.VGNCRIO.
On the reverse is Christ standing amid the stars while holding a globus cruciger. The legend reading SITTXREDARO ECISISTEDUCAT
The photo with the two coins showing is of the coin you are buying. These are gold plated.The single photos show a full size coin and demonstrates how some of the outside edge of the clipped coins has been trimmed off or clipped by unscrupulous people.
Made from a die to represent this type and hand struck from pewter and plated with real gold.
