The gold stater of Tasciovanus was minted between 20 BC and 10 AD on behalf of Tasciovanus, leader of the Catuvellauni tribe. This tribe ranged over an area covering the North Thames, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and the lands to the east and south.
Obverse shows a crossed wreath and crescent motif containing four hidden faces.
Reverse shows horse galloping right, bulls skull above, hook-like object and ringed pellets below. (TASCIAV legend off flan)
