This is a copy of one of the rarest silver staters in existence. There are only a few specimens recorded. This unit was possibly issued by a son of King Cunobelin of the Catauvellauni and Trinovantes tribes, just before the Roman invasion of AD 43.
It has the letters ‘AGR’ on the obverse side. The meaning of these letters is at present unknown.
