This tiny Celtic gold stater was issued c.50-40 BC. probably by Commios.
It shows the digamma, the original sixth letter (F) of the Greek alphabet off-centre on one side whilst the other side shows a Celtic horse facing left with linear mane, trefoil and complex ‘cog wheel’ sun symbol above, ring below, ring and ringed-pellet in front. It is VA 353-3 and is described as scarce.
