This is a copy of a beautiful gold stater, once again, issued by the Attrebates tribe about the period 10-42 AD.
The obverse shows a large central vine leaf. The letters VI are on the left of the leaf whilst the letters R(I) are to the right of the leaf.
The reverse shows a fully armed Celtic cavalryman on reined horse leaping to the right. CO(F) around horse. A beaded border shows on more than one third of the reverse.
