This lovely gold stater, described as ‘very rare’ was a last minute entry into this list.
The obverse side shows a vertical wreath motif of rectangular leaves, crossed by a horizontal line with a thin crescent at each end clasping a ring beaded at intervals and with central pellet. There is a pellet at the bottom of the wreath and a snake-like scroll in each angle.
The reverse shows a Corieltauvian horse facing left, VEP above, CORF below with a pellet triad under high-arched tail. It is Van Arsdell 960.
