This is a beautiful example of the type known as Wuneetton dating to c.650 AD. Minted in either Kent or London. It has the finest reverse of the few known examples,. There are only four other examples recorded. It is a derivative of the witmen series.
Our example was found by a metal detector user in Buckinghamshire in late 1997
