This is a reproduction of a very rare gold quarter stater not listed in either Seaby or Van Arsdell. This coin is similar to type BM 538 which is classed as a ‘very rare’ type. The BM example shows a right facing horse with three tails.
This example shows a left-facing horse with a single tail and, as stated above, is not listed in Seaby or Van Arsdell.
