We received the following identification on this coin from Mike Bonsor of the Saxon Coin Index ‘This is a strange coin, probably imatitive. The wolf’s head with long tongue is copied from Series K, type 33. The other side is partly copied from a walking bird (Series Q? H? - who knows, it’s so far from the original)’
‘It also has an element of interlace design in it. It’s a competant copy but very stylised.’
