This is a reproduction of an excessively rare silver stater minted by the Catuvellauni tribe based in the North Thames area.
As far as we are aware only six SEGO staters have been found in Britain. This example shows the word SEGO within a central rectangular box. The flan has a interlaced (guilloche) border.
The reverse shows a regal horseman riding right on full-bodied horse and linear mane and bridle rein. The flan has a beaded border and the rider wears a hat, helmet or crown with two long streamers flowing behind.
