Edward VI shilling of the 2nd period, dated 1549. The initial mark is a grapple on both sides. This repro has a slightly thicker flan than the original coin.
The coin was minted at the Tower mint and the obverse shows a crowned bust with the legend EDWARD VI D G AGL FRA Z HIB REX
The reverse shows a oval heavily garnished shield dividing E R. The reverse legend reads TIMOR DOMINI FONS VITE MDXLIX
